  1. Dang, not what I expected at all!

  2. Where is all that water coming from? Does the yontengu have roots going down into a local aquifer? A portal in it’s belly that leads to the sea bottom? Or does anyone have any simpler ideas?

  3. @Paddy, there’s a bit of “old school sci fi adventure” magicalness you have to just allow in some cases with this story. 🙂

  4. Hydras. Why’d it have to be hydras?

If this thing grows two heads where one is destroyed, it could be a problem.

  5. Awesome, Don! That is fabulous looking!

  6. @Paddy: Actually, it’s pretty easy to make the jump from oxygen to water. Here’s an interesting article about it: http://bit.ly/1c9vo1S

  7. STEWART!!

  8. Oh my… where is Julie going to place the bomb (?) on that yontengu?

Well, we all know that in this planet the habitable land is only an isle among a huge ocean, isn’t it? so surely must be a way to get all that water don’t you think?

But yes, we can also refer to what Chris has said. I know this concept as “The Contract of Credibility”, it is kind of an unwritten rule, accorded between the reader and the writer, where both agree to sacrifice certain “realistic” aspects in exchange for giving interest to the stories they contain.

  9. Thankyou Sean, i really was happy with it am glad you liked it too! am in Iceland right now, an it is amazing, future landscapes in Yontengu may be affected by this trip!

  10. Love the little glimpse of Teddy in the first panel Don!

  11. aaaand clearly Teddy was right to be not thrilled about this trip.

  12. I agree with Stewart, but that link is bad.

They’re just chemical factories: they breathe in O2 and H (oxygen and hydrogen) among the gasses in the air. The special equipment separates out the O and the H, and the rest is farted out :X
