   @ GNARLYDOUG: Probably less stupidity (although it certainly factors into this situation) than complacency. I’m thinking that they’ve fallen into a Bush-Cheney/PNAC-style trap of believing that their cause is righteous and how dare anyone question whether or not Victory is assured. That the secret of a Secret Weapon — especially a Yontengu — is that it can turn against you is simply something that they would never consider because they’re too invested in the fantasy that they’ll “win”.
