I think those are some good philosophies coming from Lasper.

Lasper crossed his arms and said, “Heh. You’re not suspicious-looking characters at all. Are you running from something?” Gerek, still hidden by his cloak, said, “Naw. We were just getting in some calisthenics. It feels nice to get the blood going.” Lasper rubbed his chin and said, “I tend to agree, as long as the way the blood is going isn’t in spurts leaving my body.” Then Lasper threw up his arms and added, “Fine. Yes. We’re willing to take passengers. We’re going to Belmonth. What’s your destination?. Gerek said, “Belmonth. Sure.” Suspicious, Lasper held up an approxiscan so Gerek could see the screen and said, “I see. You know, I suspect trouble with you three. How does this price look?” Gerek said, “How about knock off 80?” Annoyed, Lasper looked down at his approxiscan and changed the number and said, “Sigh. I’ll knock off 60. Even though I suspect I’m going to regret this.” Gerek said, “Thank you.” Audri smiled and said, “You know, personally, I’d rather regret the things i’ve done than regret the things I haven’t done.” Lasper points at her and said “Personally I’d rather not regret things period. But you be you.”

I regret what I regret. Regretfully.
I regret things others have done.
Then you’d never get anything done at all. I regret existing, not that I had a choice in the matter, but here we are. I’d say it’s better to be a should never have been than a never was. All things being equal.
“Well, that’s the real trick, isn’t it?”
