11/06/24 – Going Planetside

Gerek approached a console in the escape pod and started looking up information. He said, "fine. Okay. Maybe your story is possible. Why not? Anyhow, I'm going to bring us down on the nearest planet. The other Bollycks from my ship are likely concerned about my well-being and will come looking for me soon. They just don't know yet that the concern is misplaced." Making air quotes with his fingers, Gerek continued, "or maybe if they learned the situation, they would think their concern was well placed, and would want to 'fix' me." He turned back to the console and said, "it looks like planet Gorend is the closest, so we'll have to go there, but it also means that's the first place they'll look. Which is why I need to get away from this short-distance escape pod, into a proper ship, and leave immediately." Making air quotes, Val said, "so, where do we find us a 'proper' ship then"? Putting his head to his brow, Gerek said, "wait, you think you want to go with me? Maybe you never HAVE heard of Bollycks before."

It’s amazing how many people want to “fix” other people. Despairing really. But it makes a good funny line! 😉

Bollycks have quotation marks for punctuation! Or maybe his chip made him do that because it knew they had meaning for the gesture. That could be proof for him that they’re human, if only humans use quotation marks. Not that he’d care. “Okay, you’re human. So what. Have fun on Gorend.”
