I think he’s just misunderstood. And maybe a bit nutty.

With Val and Audri tucked under his arms, Gerek ran towards the airlock. Audri said, “hey, this is the air lock. Where are we going?” Gerek said, “I’m taking you to our ship.” We then see the docking tube connecting the Bollyck ship to Runk’s ship. Gerek said, “you still don’t trust me, do you?” Audri said, “uhhhh… No.” Once on the Bollyck ship, Gerek runs into an escape pod. Another Bollyck, observing him passing by and carrying Val and Audri, said, “whoah! Looks like Gerek finally wants a taste of blood! You da’ man, Gerek!” And another observing Bollyck said, “although there he goes into his weird hidey-hole again.” Inside the escape pod, with the door closing, Gerek dropped Val and Audri and he said, “I’ve been planning to decamp for months. I started making myself live and sleep in our escape pod, until they all got used to that peculiarity, which is why they think little of it.” Val asked, “why do I get the feeling that in truth you like living in an escape pod.” Crossing his arms, Gerek said, “well… it does give me more room to brood.”

First look at a Bollyk pirate ship, I think? Needs an alien skull and crossbones. 🙂
“Alien skull and crossbones” Alien to them? How about human bones?
Clearly, there’s already a Darnitawl skull-and-bones design on the ship. Fearsome, huh?
I wonder from where Gerek got hold of those V12 motor innards?
@Henrik, Ha! Yeahhhh. I often pull various random objects for background set pieces. Kinda like old Dr Who episodes. 🙂
Good eye Henrick! I blew right past that:) Allison or Merlin? Either one especially a Rolls Royce Merlin and he could make a fortune selling it on Earth to the aircraft rebuilders. Great job drawing that Daniel! Great detaiil!
So, is this the Bollyck equivalent of living in your parents’ basement?
Might we anticipate any flowers? 😀
No, seriously — look up “bollockwort”. It’s probably not what you’re expecting.
“Decamp,” now, is it? A less-charged word than ‘deserting,’ certainly, or ‘fleeing,’ which suggests pursuit. All well and good.
But decamp to where? I can’t imagine Bollyck-friendly worlds are numerous nor particularly technologically advanced. But if Gerek’s been planning decampment for some time, this angle has been provided for. Which now begs the question: Decamp now? How close is the friendly hidey-hole, and who else is waiting there? Something to ponder till Monday.
