From above there came wind and a bright yellow light with a loud “swoosh!,” blowing across everyone in the park, who had to shield their eyes from both. Then a small landing platform descended and Picknar yelled, “come on!” Thoos, Picknar, Purrloin, and Knox carrying Rodrigo, all jumped on the small platform, and Knox said, “they shot him! I’m going to kill them! And then sue the pants off of them!” As the platform began to rise, Rodrigo said, “that’s my boy. Getting things in the right order.” Knox said, “and then ask them what the hell they were thinking!” Down below, jo squared with her pants down, and as she looked up at the hovering spaceship she said, “this is making it really hard to focus enough to pee.”

Animals seem to be much smarter in this universe. Unsure whether or not they qualify as sapient without the chip. This cat certainly acts sapient.

Purrloin does seem to be a very brave little cat. Hopefully he will find friends in the wider universe.
Wonder what he’ll have to say. If a kangaroo and a coyote can be sapient, so can a cat. Probably smarter than his owner.

What happened to Knox’s t-shirt?

In the first panel, it looks like Knox’s t-shirt is on Rodrigo’s wound.
Really awkward angling of Jo there in the last panel, and your drawing is spot on — the twist of her body as she’s looking up, the left arm resting on her legs, the muscle in the side of her neck as she cranes around to look, it all reads really well. Nicely done!
Chris: In the alt text it says “Jo squared with her pants down”. Should read “Jo squatted with her pants down”
Preferable to being cubed with your pants down, I imagine.
