Now you will be able to enjoy music while reading the comic. Ding dong ding dong ding dong!

Audri, holding a buddha bowl salad, chocolate cake, and a kombucha; and Val, licking her fingers, stood in front of the food synth. Audri said, “despite being rude, thank you for the food.” Val said, “yeah, thanks, food-making thing.” The food synth said, “I’m a food synth, although it’s a bit of a misnomer as I can also make non-food items.” Val got excited at this and said, “oh. Oh! Can you make me a pair of roller skates with retractable wheels? Balanced however you think is best for my body. Just make sure there’s action in the trucks.” The food synth said, “more earth stuff? What made you two decide to fetishize earth, anyway?” Wide eyed, Audri said, “lifelong interest?” And Val said, “Earth is sexy?” As Val put on her roller skates, Audri had an idea. She said “and i’d like six handbells with a bandolier for them please. In the order of c, d, e, f, g, a.” Val asked, “you play handbells?” Smiling, Audri said, “for several years now. Campanology’s become my thing.” Unsure about this, Val said, “how… interesting.” Audri added, “actually, I should say that it is one of my things. But pottery equipment seemed impractical to carry while we’re on the run.”

Yes, an entire set of jangly bells is definitely more practical while running away from pursuers.
You can always put something in them to stop the clappers, I guess?
And their belts went jingle jangle jingle as they ran away from the law.
There are quite a few ding dongs in this comic. And to be clear, I am referring to silly people, not body parts.
Earth weeaboos!
Did someone just say “weeaboo?” ’cause I think I just heard someone say “weeaboo.”
Flamwiches are finger-licking good!
It looks like the food synth was smart enough to realize a pair of skates meant 4 skates…
I am somewhat surprised that roller-skates are only an Earth thing…
The roller skates are practical, but I appreciate that Audri is making time to keep up on her hobbies, no matter the circumstances. Persistence is key in maintaining a rewarding practice regimen.
“action in the trucks”?
I think that may mean the ‘trucks’ are built to make sharp turns and/or they are easy to tilt to make turns.
“Truck” means the bit the wheels are directly attached to. Trains use this term. Lorries cannot, since the lorry itself is called “truck”. Oh well.
