Making new friends as an adult is hard!
———————-Alt Text———————-
Standing at her front for, watching Jo depart, Val says to herself, “well, I possibly just kept my best friend from killing herself yet again.” Val shuts the door and goes inside and says, “I do feel bad for lying to her, telling her I’d off myself too if she’ll wait, but I only do it with pure and noble intentions.” Getting a little worked up, she continues, “she has so much to offer this world! It would be tragic to lose her!” Val then stops, thinks hard about what she just said, and then corrects herself and says, “okay. Maybe she doesn’t have that much to offer. But making friends as an adult is so hard! The last thing I want to do is actually have to try to go out and meet people again.”

Okay, there’s the call for some silly aliens hauling her to elsewhere.
I hope that her friend is cool with it.
Offpanel, Jo is having the same apostrophe about Val.
Mood, Val. Mood.
It’s damn near impossible.
A clarion call to Chekov if I ever heard one.
My wife (65) and I (63) have made over twenty new friends in the last seven months. It’s not hard. How do you think we did it?
I’ve been trying, in my new area of the country, for 20 yrs.
If the area is clannish AF, it’s impossible to make new friends! After all, by their own admission, they “already have plenty of friends, thank you!”
So tell me how YOU did it!
I don’t drink or smoke, nor am I looking for “romantic entanglements”.
Glad to see someone is gathering them before they can come annoy me.
@David Merkel Ran into people you’d forgotten you already knew? 😛
