Ah home, why must you always be so often complex?
Hey, you can see her house from here…
Knowing Choan, she probably owns the city and calls it her “home”
Going to the roots after many many years gives out that feeling, especially if you start low in life and do good for yourself.
It’s like a punch to the stomach, being reminded of how worse you used to have it.
Every time I visit my family, despite them doing way better than most people there.
Told you so.
They often say you can’t go home again, but nobody ever mentions if you want to go in the first place.
Definitely explains why the air smelled familiar to her.
So, sort of a high-rise village?
I never go there except for funerals…
Ah, home. The source and cure of nearly all maladies, of any type. Just like alcohol, if not as tasty.
So Choan is from the Bupillionverse, is she? This explains a number of things, and leaves others unanswered. For one thing, the Bupillions plainly know of her and her homeland/planet/city. They revealed nothing of this. Just gave her the potholder and three sets of coordinates. Plainly they sent her on a self-directed guided tour but did not say why.
Something tells me that what Choan does next will reveal at least as much about what the Bupillions intend as it does about her character. Surprises await, and some of them are probably going to surprise Choan, who may not be prepared for what she learns.
Oh, this is going to be a fun week!
I can all but hear “So you own your own planets and a business empire. That’s nice. So when are you going to settle down and give me some grandkids?”
This city’s inhabitants does obviously not use any ground based transportation. No road or even footpaths are visible.
Hovercraft.
Also, given that angle and all those hills, there may be roads we can’t see.
“It’s only a model.”
“Shhh!”
