Love that last panel!
So Choan, worried about the slightly evil amoral component in herself, knowingly violates her host’s trust to do exactly as she was explicitly denied permission to do. Ruddock eating the theoretical cheese off the floor would tidy Werjimond’s house and not submit to Choan’s teasing. Now I’m sorry there’s not cheese on the floor … but I am not as sorry as Ruddock about it.
But Choan knows this is the best and most effective way to collect her comeuppance!
She’s just helping wisdom along, really.
Werjimond’s wise enough to know Choan’ll disobey her, so it’s just as good as giving her permission while not giving it, right? That’s how wisdom works, by saying sometimes a thing is its opposite, right?
It’s like a Sphinx riddle. Very mysterious.
Actually, by “No,” I may actually have meant “Yes.”

Who moved my cheese?
FIVE SECOND RULE
But … what holds the eyebrow?
The way she’s holding the dangling, glowing bit reminds me of Scotty trying to use a mouse as a microphone in ST:IV.
The question we must ponder, as readers, is: Was Werjimond wise enough to know Choan would violate her trust at first opportunity? Because if she did, then there’s something out there on the Bupillionet that Werjimond knows Choan cannot resist once seeing it, and this will compel her actions from that point forward.
Who needs cheese when you can use somebody else’s arrogance to lure them?
Speaking of cheese, think I’ll have some now. Bought some Swiss today, and as you may know, Swiss cheese is, to me, very holy.
Wholly understandable.
