“Welcome to Bupillion, civilian! Here for the cotillion?”
“Wouldn’t miss it for a million. In that pavilion?”
“Who’s your date?”
“Nathan Fillion.”
“KEVIN BACON WAS TELLING THE TRUTH!!!!”

I tried to get Adobe’s Firefly to illustrate this, but it has no idea who Nathan Fillion is.

I don’t know who Nathan FIllion is, either. Name sounds kinda familiar, though.
I’m pretty sure Dimitri and Choan could come up with some “interesting” ideas what to do with a can of oil . . . .

Klak! There are *children* who read this webcomic!

And now we’re all wondering what he WILL do with that can of oil…
Dr. Moosen McMoose, Chief Spymooster of the Moosad
Poor Klak. He was just gonna use it make the chair not squeak anymore.

Offhand, I can think of few things more horrifyingly obnoxious (or obnoxiously horrible) than Choan with her consciousness expanded.
It’s a truism in science fiction that it’s the people who write ‘hard’ sf inevitably find themselves drawn to mysticism, alternate realities and things beyond mortal comprehension. This is the charm behind Heinlein’s world-shifting “Glory Road” and the entire point behind “2001: A Space Odyssey” and, for that matter, “Contact.” And the reason L. Ron Hubbard decided his invasion-of-Earth books would make a better religion. At least more profitable than writing.
Choan equipped with the tech and outlook of a species from another dimension simply scares me to death. What WOULDN’T she be capable of? She’s hardly constrained by normal ideas of morality now. She doesn’t seem the type to invent new religions but she’s too fond of intrusive and far-reaching technology as it is. If she decided that sentient robot mice were a nice start to a bigger idea she has, where will it end? WILL it end? I have the drowningly sinking feeling it won’t. It’s just the beginning of a bigger, and more transformative (read: distortingly psychedelic) new reality.
Popcorn and Dr. Pepper are hardly enough for this. SCOTCH! I need SCOTCH!!

Maybe she’s becoming a Time Lord.

Speaking of robot mice…
Did anyone get a final count?

I have it as 480 mice in 95 panels, but I could be wrong. 😀

He’s the guy from Firefly, Castle and Doctor Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog.
Among other things.
Since I couldn’t remember the encounter, here’s the archive link: https://www.baldwinpage.com/spacetrawler/2022/03/28/032822-theyd-like-a-word/

Not panels, half-pages.
