Spacetrawler, audio version For the blind or visually impaired, June 12, 2023.
I should note, that in the next Spacetrawler series, although Nogg-and-crew may have cameos, they are not currently planned to be major characters, and so some of this is me thinking about characters, and how I love and am attached to them. (not that I don’t have those thoughts during my darker moments, but that’s neither here nor there)
A dog (or coyote in this case) will comfort you.
Then it will start chewing its own ass.
Make of that what you will.
If it’s doing that, something is wrong. I’ve had dogs for 50 years now, 4 currently, and there’s very little of that.
Very happy to hear the words “next spacetrawler series”…
YES
“… next Spacetrawler series,…” What beautiful words!
We get a mechanic, get her up and running again, hire a good pilot, maybe a cook – Live like real people. A small crew – Them that feel the need to be free. Take jobs as they come. They never have to be under the heel of nobody ever again. No matter how long the arm of the GOB might get… we’ll just get ourselves a little further.
new characters that we come to love with a few select cameos >chefs kiss<
Nogg does have Choan. I mean, she’d snark at him *constantly* but I’m sure she could find a place for him somewhere in her life.
The great beauty and fright in creation is what your characters are going to do with what you’ve put them into. Because, if you’re any good, it isn’t exactly what you expect, and your characters take on more life than you planned. The end result is, or should be, a kind of pandemonium, which you ride through like a rafter through the rapids. You may reach calm waters beyond, and feel relief and satisfaction. But you can also smash up most spectacularly, and living after that — sometimes with your characters, sometimes not all of them — feels like survivor’s triumph. I give you “American Psycho” for the former and “The Hotel New Hampshire” for the latter in American literature. Neither, of course, are children’s rides.
Chiming in to congratulate us all for the words “the next Spacetrawler series”, or as I like to call it, “The Zorilla Saga”. Thank you for this wonderful news, Christopher.
Why would Emily despise Nogg? If not for him, she’d be living in solitude on Earth instead of having a husband, a daughter, and a job that she loves.
