Emily is such a jerk. But she’s OUR jerk. 🙂
I tell ya, she gets no respect.
I feel like I’m missing something here.
Emily’s missing her hair from the time Stangor shot her. They have history.
In panel 1, Ciara’s pupils look like cocktail olives.
Now I want a martini.
Maybe that’s why Dimitri liked her so much. 😉
Maybe I’m late to the party and I know it is a stereotype but Ciara’s attributes all add up to her having an Irish accent in my mind.
She likely does, since she met Dimitri in Galway.
Emily is a jerk, but not a chicken.
How have I not noticed that Emily’s flight controls are a HOTAS system? (Hands On Throttle And Stick) I’ve played too much Elite:Dangerous to miss such a detail in well-equipped combat vessels. And all controls are mounted at the end of chair arms so they can be manipulated even in extreme-G environments, like trying to dodge an incoming missile by flying a corkscrew pattern.
Of COURSE Emily would fly a fighting ship no other way.
And she’s in too good a mood to be jerky, and Stangor knows it, or this conversation would assuredly even now be too far south to recover.
Elite, the old Commodore game?
Indeed. You would not recognize it today. Hard to believe, but this game has gone through some five versions in forty years of development. Their singular claim to fame now is their map of the Milky Way, which they have reproduced at one-to-one scale… all 400 billion stars, and a notably greater number of planets.
This short video compares an automated starship docking at an orbital station on the Amiga in 1988, and on the PC in 2014. It may give you some idea of how the developers have come along with the original idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2y2INmIfd4
