I’ve seen this film!
Choan: “I’ll need twenty-four hours to fix it.”
Khaba: “You only get two.”
Choan: “Okay.”
Choan: “I was so depressed that I got it done in zero hours. Now what am I going to do with these leftover hours? Oh well, I guess I will just jinx some more things. What else could go wrong?”
And that’s as safe as you can be.
Previous comic comments, Coyote: “Choan forgets they have a Diller.” You jinxed it man!
Luck can be tricky.
Wait. Choan knows who Henry Shrapnel was?
This is what Chris has been building up to for years – Spacetrawler is a big PSA on the importance of wearing your seatbelt.
Damn, beat me to it.
I was going to comment on the total absence of Seat Belts. 😀
Diller has all the luck, for better or worse — the good luck, the bad luck, the weird luck…
The lingering hoof print made me laugh!
If the LUCKY one gets sucked into vacuum of space then something really awful is gonna happen to that ship.
“Shrapnel came through the window! And it sucked out Diller before it self-sealed!”
The first “it” has to be the vacuum of space, but seems a reference to the previously mentioned shrapnel because having both “it”s refer to the window doesn’t work. Maybe “And Diller got sucked out before it self-sealed!” would be clearer?
I put “nitpick” tags around this but they got stripped as though it were real HTML.
I mean, when water is rushing into a tube, you can say the tube sucked something carried by the water, even in it’s passive state in the situation.
In this case you -could- say the hole in the window is what sucked Diller out, then self-sealed. “It” being the hole both times. Inaccurate, but it IS something that could be said, not all we say is accurate anyway
Huh. Interesting.
@Shen_Hibiki, you are exactly correct in how I intended the word usage.
But, that said, @Efogoto, your suggested edit is much clearer, and is excellent. Thank you. I changed it. 🙂
Somehow, Diller getting sucked out the window will turn out to have been lucky.
Hey. It’s Diller. The “Heart of Gold” will be along in a minute.
Now, did Diller’s suckout save Choan from further self-recrimination and propel Choan into helper mode again? Is her luck functioning in that direction?
Or was it merely the opportunity to get Diller into a situation where her luck would act to change the very nature of the Strib fleet combat and resolve the situation without further bloodshed?
It all depends on how Diller’s luck functions, and at what scale. Me, I think I’ll get another lemonade and ponder what Monday’s episode might bring. I won’t be disappointed, I think.
Could you get me a lemonade too, while you’re at it? And put a hefty dose of gin in it too, for good measure. Or vodka, if you’re out of gin. Thanks! I’ve got some Russian Tea Cookies to share, if you’re up for them.
Sapphire do for you? And thanks for the Russian Tea Cookies; it’s been a long day.
We can assume that their clothing includes a provision for vacuum exposure. They had such in Star Trek – a belt that created a force field.
Boy, Choan sure has glass confidence; one sharp rap and she falls to pieces!
She’s just that unused to failure. 😀
In any case, Diller picked a bad week to give that symbiont to somebody else.
