In the older Star Trek series, a stun phaser was a specific “blue nimbus” effect. Later on, in shows like Deep Space Nine, the “kill” shot looks about the same as a “stun” shot, and you have to wait for someone on screen to declare “he’s dead,” or remember (as in this case) a specific scene where phasers were set to “stun.”
Of course, in Star Trek, if someone is supposed to be “really most sincerely dead,” they disintegrate into nothing at all. This is completely arbitrary, and is mostly in service to dramatic effect or the need for a corpse to mourn or cheer over.
Wonder how long it will take for Aitana to put two and two together and then request a perfectly innocent supply of pepper from the food dispenser.
Oh, right, on her collar, (not built in) and her strib allergy was cured. Pepper it is, then, maybe.

Wait….she? For some reason I thought Ruddock was a he. Not that it matters to us, but it could be important to the story. But which is it and how do we know?
@CB I was packing up my apartment to move recently and came across a glass that I think was from Kickstarter that said “I remember when Space Trawler was on the internet”.
A lot more people fall into that category now.

“Breaking bread” ever sound destructive? “That’s some nice bread youse got there. Be a shame if anything was to happen to it.”
Good ol’ Ruddock!
I’m having “Hostess Fruit Pies!” flashbacks from the old 80s Archie comics.
It’s panel 5 that has me wondering if the Stribs gave the Graughas a poodle shave.
Just as well. If coyotes keep feeding people, they can be associated with food, and people will lose their fear of them.
Even the Alkartika is taken aback.
Has Ruddock adjusted his blaster, or was the Graughas just much sturdier than the Stribs? Because they didn’t just “fall unconscious”.
@Drew, it had been recalibrated: https://www.baldwinpage.com/spacetrawler/2022/01/12/011222-desert-memories/

I kinda like how Rudrock is the only one of them that is properly armed (because hers is built in) and she definately can’t activate it intentionally.
Then again..still allergic to Stribs, so…
No longer alergic to stribs. One of the strib med bots fixed that after he killed most of the ships complement

@Julia (& @Mneme), Ruddock is a he! π

Typo, 1st panel (“unconscious”).
