Strangor please… everyone knows that the humans on board always end up becoming Captain.

And what happens when Ruddock returns?

Actually, if you give the squatters PERMISSION to stay… the holding is no longer hostile and the ownership does not transfer. You can then take the time to round up a posse and run the squatters out of Dodge. But you’d better make sure you can do it, else a judge might rule your permission vacant and the holding once again open to the squatters, should they last so long. This is why it’s a good idea to bring the sheriff along when you do your eviction.
As I recall, the situation is more fluid when the property is in fact motile. Your paperwork as to title and registration might be valid, but if the ‘squatters’ have absquatulated to another jurisdiction, realm or territory, your claim to your stolen property might only be enforceable in a physical taking of the motile property from the then-current possessors. As Nogg et alia have so done.
So tuff, Stangor. Deal. Find an empty turret control and make yourself useful for once.

“Absquatulate” is a fun word!

Right? Nogg cannot let Stangor eloign with either his captainship, or his actual ship!

Just arrived from an archive binge.
Loved ST1, (have the books). But lost you for years during ST2…
Glad to see the third installment turned out to be brilliant again.
But she fits the chair.
Fair enough

Question about the ‘mice’: Were you in anyway inspired (or vice versa) by [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/8x05a3/humanity_as_the_ants_eldritch_beings/) idea?
@Heng, huh. Not inspired by that, but I love the concept. π
