Sometimes it is too hard to take your own actions (rather than your intentions) for what they really were.

Chris all I ask is that Chiphu not get dissolved, ok? OK?
Sorry, the mice already see it coming down the tracks with the headlight on.
Rationalization, the savior of sanity.
I see a parallel to the food synth making an “oopsie” with sentient mice. It may not be talking to them because it’s blocking the concept it did such a horrible thing. It’s like the Magician in “The Magician’s Nephew” not understanding animal speech because he can’t bear knowing they can talk. Hopefully Ruddock will be more contrite when he finds out they’re intelligent.
Torturous death, oopsie. Po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to.
that look on Diller’s face is all the confirmation we need to know there’s a big “oopsie” in there somewhere.
Sometimes you can’t go on with the f— –‘oopsies’ that you’ve made, and so the only recourse is rationalization or delusion. Either way, avoiding the truth also avoids the lesson it might teach, and so leads you down the path into ‘oopsies’ of the future. Until, you know, you get killed or you have an ‘oopsie’ you can bear to think about and learn from that. Seen both happen. Can’t say which one is better. Or worse.
‘Oopsies’ are the ‘oh sh*ts’ of more polite people.
Christopher, I caught your reference to “the mouse with the top hat” in the audio, and went back to review my comment of the other day about which is Leb and which is Pally. First, I apologize for not using your full name there. I know you use Christopher. Second, I think it reads with less humor than I intended and so I want you to know that I meant nothing more than that I want to know which is which and just couldn’t figure it out. Thanks for all your work, I love Spacetrawler because you’re making a wonderful universe for us.
