I often find that my favorite acts of bravery don’t have much enthusiasm. Explains a lot about me, really.

They’ll do it with lots of heart, but they sound half-hearted.
If there’s really a lot of enthusiasm in the face of danger, then it’s not so much bravery as foolhardiness.
Wonder how he feels about it once he’s sober again.
Also, I’m really bad at this but: 0-0-0-0-0-0
“a little enthusiasm, but lots of heart” – I had to laugh at this because every time I go hiking or biking with my daughters (sub 10-years old) this is pretty much how they put into context their efforts. Their enthusiasm diminishes 10% every 5 minutes, but it can be replenished with a snack so long as we don’t hit 0%. Their heart can stay at 100% with continued praise and appreciation.
A vast majority of the brave actions taken by human beings throughout history fall into the category of people screaming “Oh gods, I wish I didn’t have to do this, I’m crapping myself, and would rather be ANYWHERE else in the world right now!”
And then doing it anyway.
‘Bravery’ is what they say you had when you come back from where you just had to go anyway. Valor, Falstaff notwithstanding, isn’t always a matter of discretion.
No mice in the scene?
Bravery is doing something even though you are afraid to.
So plenty of room to quibble over details.
