Never a good time without at least one screw loose.

    “Ship, where are all these creatures coming from?”
    “The captain ordered them.”
    “I did no such thing!”
    “Not you. I mean the best captain I’ve ever had.”
    “Wait, what?”

    Christopher, I love all the detail you put into your work! I’ve been having fun with the mouse count (1-0-0-0-1-0 today), but Ruddock missing in a group shot three “days” ago had Havlock wondering where he was. This is fantastic stuff.

    And another non-human shows up the hairless apes. You ever think that if the GOB recognized Earth, we might be only the fourth or fifth major race listed as inhabiting it?

    In the meantime, Ruddock goes off in sterling service to his two main drives:

    1) Find food;

    2) Find a mate;

    3) Preserve the pack. Okay, three main drives. And staying alive. Four. You want to keep the count going?

    We are hardly hairless. Just less hair than an ape due to our retention of our neonate characteristics. Large head, big eyes, lack of much hair. Now imagine a human where that didn’t happen.

    Uhh, does this count as the ship ratting out Ruddock’s location to Ciara? X’D

    I know it’s a stretch when the order was just to let the coyote hide in Chiphu’s bedroom some time ago, that secret was never revealed, and Ruddock has since been seen around plenty of times that his location isn’t exactly a secret anymore. Also technically, the computer didn’t really give Ciara his location, merely offered conjecture (where he went, not where he is) while specifying where Ruddock is not (“in the vicinity.”) Also, Ruddock can’t captain while he’s not even on the ship anymore.

    But… after witnessing this comic dragging everyone screaming through the School of Unintended Consequences, that order has haunted me ever as soon as I read it, and my fears are stoked by seeing the ship now acknowledging the command with a callback to that exact strip.
