I’m not sure if my desire to put a huge shaft to swing across in all my sci-fi comics comes more from Star Wars, or the videogame Pitfall. But I do love it. 🙂

I actually have Pitfall on original, Atari 2600 hardware. I even bought a new-in-box Hyperkin Ranger to play it. It’s a combination gamepad/paddle controller for the 2600 and 7800.
I think it also works for Sonic the Hedgehog on Genesis, though there’s naturally no pause button.
A few years ago, someone ported Pitfall to the one major home computer that it was never ported to in the 80’s. https://atariage.com/forums/topic/150008-ti-994a-pitfall/
The best laid schemes o’ mice an’ men gang aft a-snap.
I approve this quote modification.
Symbionts are both the cure and cause of PTSD.
Aren’t huge shafts with with handy swing cables obligatory on *all* spacecraft?
along with air vents large enough for heroes to crawl through
And control columns with no handrails.
See! Things are working, things like the artificial gravity.
Do you ever crack up while drawing, Christopher? The symbiont’s arrow-pointing gesture in panel 1 is a riot!
@Winnie, ha! Yes, I do. And it is one of the most marvelous feelings when I do. 🙂
I always thought Luke and Leia were really lucky, managing to swing across that shaft on the Death Star. I mean, a tiny cable like that can’t be easy to hang on to.
And I was always confused as to how they managed the swing off of Jabba’s sail barge.
Isn’t it great to have the scriptwriters on your side?
When they aren’t doing things like killing your family to create a backstory.
Ok, she’s been seen prisoner, now; she has an alibi
Great punchline, but we’ve already seen him fly out of exactly this situation.
I suppose it was inevitable that one day the rope over the chasm would break in mid-swing. It wouldn’t happen to the Mandalorian but it happens here to Tesfay.
I suppose the only way to top THIS joke is to have an X-wing fighter come zooming up the chasm and take the characters with them. But I’m pretty sure it’s already been done by Robot Chicken or the like. Sigh.
C’mon! Enough with the cables and shafts! We need more smashing plates, like in “GalaxyQuest”!
Lol
I noticed the name Tesfaya is used on the tv show The Expanse.
Chris, are you a fan?
@Meran, nice to see the name used elsewhere, but no, never seen it. But I’ve heard good things. 🙂
It’s EXCELLENT. Books as well. Looks like its beginning to deviate from the books a bit. Next season will be the last. And there’s 1 more book, then ~that will be done too.
I think you would be fascinated by the Protomolecule… and what is built because of it.
It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that
