I know for 99% of you, a lot of this is rehash, but it’s important to give some hints of the past for new readers.

Dmitri might be getting old, but seeing more of him never will. 🙂
Dimitri leaves out the very brief period where he effectively ruled the galaxy.

Can you blame him? I mean, that just leads to all sorts of awkward questions, and doesn’t really matter, does it?
It’s safer than messing with Sasquatch. Or furryites, which are about the same thing.
A Galway girl, eh? Does she play the fiddle in an Irish band?
If you’re having the characters do recaps, you could always add an editorial comment box like in old comic books, e.g. “See Spacetrawler Chapter 1 – Charismatic Chris”
Emily may be tough, but Dmitri is the most resilient human around. He can’t be bettered by word or deed (though Emily came close) and rebounds off whatever surface he’s flung against. Without visible or, indeed, detectable change. I can’t remember the last time I saw him with his hair mussed even slightly.
All of which tells me that he’s pondering the fate of Emily emotionally and figuring out where he needs to be the next time he sees her. Emily obviously expects a pass, which he is ignoring, and that tells me his approach next time will be different. Being hard also makes you brittle; I wonder if even Dmitri knows a way to bring a shattered Emily back together, should that be necessary.
All I know is that I wouldn’t trust the task to anyone lesser. God, no.

You’d think access to Magic Space Medicine would be helpful.
