Kregger’s expression in panel 4 keeps cracking me up. It’s such a strange joy when I do that to myself.

Typo there, “Jet Back”
Gutsy move, but he screwed up by leaving the second one behind. Emily away, in 3…2…
Well, that *is* where he’s wearing it …
@Mic, oops! Thank you! Fixed!
Kregger left one jetpack behind, I sense an imminent jetpack-chase.
Either Kregger likes his chances with the Durns better than with Emily or the Puppies, or he’s got a deal with the Durns.
With regard to the beanie shaped helmets, did they have a propeller on top?
Or something more sinister meant to mesmerize any observer?
Clever way to get around the no-fly embargo: tubes. Maybe the birdies have some kind of “honorary avian”-system going on too?
Bribes!
“SHKYEWWWWW”! I love Christopher’s onomatopoeticons, reminds me of their grand master Don Martin.
Now comes the big decision: Chase after Kregger, or take advantage of his leaving to search the premises? His flight suggests that the real deal is what’s in his head, not on the ground. And what’s in his head might be whatever agreement there is that keeps the Durns from frying him out of the sky.
On the other hand… where are the puppies, and did they come back to pick up their helmets, or did something happen that caused Kregger to call them back and deal with the situation? They could have the real answer. But they’re armed, decidedly cold-blooded, and working to a timetable. Any encounter with them, expected or not, will be perilous.
I think house-crushing is only the veriest, slightest evidence of their ill intent. Good God, be CAREFUL, Emily!
