Everything good I’ve learned about how to live came from middle-grade books.
Happy Christmas, for those who celebrate it.

“Aitana and the Space Puppies”.
Right there with ya, girl.
Rule number X about magic geegaws and doohickeys: Use it or lose it.
ROTFLMAO
Aitana, you are in a Spacetrawler comic; going back to books and games, a nice quiet life, is ~gone, honey chile!
by now she can talk to the onboard Coyote — and really what better life is there after that? she’s got her own pack!
And what books does she read exactly? Cause I don’t think I’m familiar with them.
Also, Merry Christmas.
I think I now have a new tagline; and if I can find a way to legally put her statement on a t-shirt … SHA-ZAYAM!
(to quote Gomer Pyle…)
Worse, the synth can create other stuff too like clothes and gadgets … maybe she DOES create a magic (advanced technology) wand.
Oh, crud… It just struck me … “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
She has now been transported “magically” to a world of danger, with talking coyotes, where she can give a command with a magic word (“FOOD SYNTH, give me a bowl of Sugar-Coated Chocolate Bombs with cow milk!” or “MEDIBOT! Fix my glasses!”) and she is tasked with fighting off an invasion of evil puppy-dog people and freeing the King and Queen!
(I notice Ailita’s glasses aren’t cracked anymore.)
FORESOOTH! Is this … Could it possibly be … Foreshadowing?
Naaa…
“MEDIBOT! Fix my eyes so I don’t need glasses!”
Hm.
It would seem Strider has just put his hand on the shards of Narsil for the first time.
Adventure and rectitude will follow. Bet on it.
Narsil has already been re-forged, that’s her glasses.
There’s a guy who’s seen some hard times. It took him one panel to eat three chicken legs.
Taking bets on how long it will take for Aitana to end up as Apex Speaker.
She offers kind of the same line of thinking that prompted her parents to take the Puppy People’s offer in the first place so it’s not from books alone. 🙂
(of course, it might be the Puppy People would not have accepted “no, thanks” as a viable response, anyway…)
