Spacetrawler, audio version For the blind or visually impaired: there is no comic today.
So, there is no comic today and tomorrow. I really tried. I worked every moment up until this trip, and then it’s been a non-stop schedule leading up to the book fair and talk in Glens Falls (the “Glens Falls” graphic novel is now available through Topatoco btw).
But for October I did “Inktober”! Where one does one drawing per day. You can (but don’t have to) follow a designated prompt list (I did that this year). I posted them on my Twitter and on my Instagram, but I’ll post them all here today and tomorrow.
You should sell those little sketches, Chris!
What sizes are they? I’m interested mostly in 3,9,12,13,16,… and I’ve not even seen tomorrow’s set!
Some very creative stuff here Chris.
I love the dragon frying his own eggs.
I kept waiting for a huge spaceship piloted by dogs to fly into each panel and crush it…
(you’ve trained us well…)
If you had the option, I thought “swung” might be a better caption for #9…
Thanks!
These are fun. Where do the prompts come from, or did you just pick a word & illustrate it?
@Nomi, every year they post a prompt list: https://inktober.com/rules 🙂
I like the legendary mouse.
But that dragon tickles me to no end.
Thank you for sharing.
The art style on some of these remind me of the old Pogo comic strip. And in that last one (Wild), the expression on the deer’s face made me laugh. Keep up the good work, man. You are a fun artist to follow!
I like how your whimsy plays ducks-and-drakes with your sensibilities, Christopher. From the playful comparison of ‘Wild’ to the very Reepicheep ‘Legend.’ You make me wish my imagination was as multifacted as a deck of flipping tarot cards, as yours comfortably and seemingly easy is. I will have to work on it.
The Legend Mouse needs its own short comic story. Perhaps once a week for a year? Enough to compile into a short book.
