Just because you can do ANY specific activity, doesn’t mean you SHOULD. Follow your heart (after meeting your basic human needs for survival, of course).
And now we resume, these strip occur AFTER the first meting with Yuri.

They’re all making plans for Mauricio. Who can make plans for himself just fine. He seems more competent to handle his life than anyone else is.
You’re right – Mauricio is perfectly capable of handling himself and deciding in what direction he wants to go now. But he’s also damaged. While he probably doesn’t want to ask anyone, I’m sure he would really appreciate the friendship, acceptance and support Hwan could offer. Often those who need it the most are the least likely to ask anyone. I can’t see Hwan smothering him with too much but can be there as needed. And Mauricio’s company would be good for Hwan too.
Mauricio is incredibly moral and self-aware. Let him decide who Hwan should beat up. Or Hwan could join the others with O’Kingly, and let Mauricio decide who needs to be beaten up first.
Better yet, Mauricio would be a perfect Apex Speaker.
Heck yes, Yuri. Heck. Yes.
The beatings will continue until morale improves. Or in Nogg’s case, the beatings will just continue.
Ouch, poor Nogg! Where would they be without him? (Morally/ethically, not geographically…)
I will now imagine a Nogg/Bikkie-buddystyle movie while pulling weeds. Something like an interstellar version of “Harley Davidson and the Marlboro man”.
So, when at loose ends, the first thought of both Anesu AND Hwan is to become Space Vigilantes? (and, per the cast page, Anesu has a background in major international heists, so she’s obviously one to talk) I’m sure their vast knowledge of what galactic culture does and does not categorize as “crimes” will serve them well…
BTW when I go to the homepage, the message forum always reads 0, but when I go to the Previous page and back again, the messages are suddenly visible. What’s THAT about? Anyone? Anyone? Eh, whatever. 🙂
@Ronald, Does it ACTUALLY say there are zero comments, or does it simply not show them. The “homepage” is configured differently (I do not know how it would be easily changed), so it indeed doesn’t show comments.
It depicts a word balloon and a zero. That’s all.
@Ronald, don’t know what to say then. Maybe you have an outdated browser? I tried it on Chrome, Firefox, and Opera and they all gave a comment count.
To see comments on the current comic at baldwinpage.com I have to hit Previous then Next. Otherwise it says 0 comments. My browsers are all the latest on the latest release of x64 Windows 10.
So the currently current comic is https://www.baldwinpage.com/spacetrawler/2019/07/26/072619-diary-knock-on-wood/ which shows the comments while just baldwinpage.com shows none.
Would probably need to have something that automatically pulls the latest comment data to the main page.
@Ronald and @Gregg, ah, my mistake. Yes, we were unable to get that to work on baldwinpage.com. I thought you were talking about baldwinpage.com/spacetrawler, which shows the number of comments, but no actual comments.
Poor Maurico, formerly Mauricio. Y’all missed the key point in the first panel: he lost an “i”, with unpredictable effects on the spelling of his stereo vison.
@Mike, heh. 🙂 Fixed!
Hwan needs more than focus to his life. He needs purpose. What sort of purpose he might find in Mauricio is ponderable, surely.
Personally, I can think of no better purpose for Hwan than to beat the daylights out of Jabby. Somehow. It’s what both of them really, really, most sincerely need. But dashed if I can figure out how to make it happen. It just should.
Follow your heart (after meeting your basic human needs for survival, of course).
And folks, that’s why you need to have your heart lojacked.
Hwan an Mauricio, maybe Bikkie too so that they have some action even if it is swatting at flies with raucous blood lust. Their unexpected adventures just walking around and flying around to random planets. Bikkie being the catalyst for at least 75% of the action. Amazing what a vagabond nomad life can do. That and a crazed 7ft tall kangaroo who is itching for a fight just to fight…just so that Jabby doesn’t kill people anymore. Even when they need him to.
With great powers comes great responsibilities. Or maybe not.
