They’re going in with wet noodles. But I think I’ve shown how unexpectedly effective that can be.
Chris thought pieces of cooked spaghetti would be useless in a gunfight, but I used my noodle to overcome the odds.
The best way to overcome the odds is to be odder.

Oh, I am SO going to steal that line.

Ok, that was supposed to be a reply to Coyote. (I already use Steadman’s line!)

Are they just forgetting that Devyat is *Dimitri’s* daughter? A girl that was trained to fight and use a makarov pistol before she was aware that she even had telekinesis in the first place?
Nova
Wait, didn’t they just chicken out of the idea of clamping her themselves?
Barry
She’s in a cage for now with no powers.
Nova
Ooooh right. Crap.

This is what happens when you have people with a little bit of power, a whole lot of fear about something they don’t understand, and complete ignorance of the big picture.
…pretty sure there’s a joke about politicians in there somewhere.
I used to call them “school boards” until I learned about Homeowners Associations.

If she does decide to go on a mini rampage, I can think of two planets that need to be wiped out now.

Ah. So this is what suicidal looks like. Cool.

Unless you get someone else to do the clamping for you
I have been looking and looking for the Civil War quote, by someone who said to the effect that he was willing to sacrifice his two nephews for the cause if need be.

If by “all” you mean all the people currently in that room, and “Mad that you tried to clamp her anyway” fits into your definition of “mad” then you are quite possibly correct…

Monumentally bad idea. Never mind the clamping; these idiots could reveal that Devyat CAN’T BE clamped, for reasons she herself doesn’t understand.
There’s also the possibility of Mauricio intervening, with hideously unknown consequences.
Best to not even try. Wups, too late for that, isn’t it?
Robert Rosenthal
Well, she is half Dimitri (rather crazy effective at destruction Terran Human), so the clamp may not be able to function properly. Maybe it fails completely, or temporarily suppresses her powers. Something that only slightly reduces the risks with pissing her off in the first place.
As it is, we don’t really know if the furryites are really blocking her powers, or if there’s enough resistance she hasn’t noticed she can still TK, or even that she knows it’s not working, but is playing along, like when she agreed to the whole getting “arrested” thing.
Our girl ain’t out of the action yet, so I don’t think we have to worry about her getting clamped any time soon.
Besides, the people that don’t want the universe consumed by a Kreebrick have probably take precautions about fools more worried about an eeb than about the ultimate death of everything including themselves.

Hey you, in the red suit…
Why the long face?
Eh? Eh?
… I’ll show myself out.
