Yup, they’re about to go down to a planet, you heard correctly. Action! You betcha.
Hey, I have a question for you all. I’ve been working hard to create models for backgrounds (like today. New room!), and obviously I can’t for all locations. Does anyone know of free 3-D modeling archives of things like buildings with interiors, market stalls, town squares, etc where I could pull? I use (prefer) sketchup, but am willing to get other options (for the mac).
Also, I must sing some praise about Anthropologie (which my girlfriend gets and then hands over to me), and their collection of clothing. I really find their catalogs lovely and tasteful, and have pulled most of Martina’s costumes from there. Today for example came from the May 2010 catalog.
Some local Seattle sci-fi comic news. Both Kris Straub of Starslip and Dave Kellet of Drive (and Sheldon) are signing in Lynwood Monday evening (along with Scott Kurtz of PVP). I hope to drop by, but am currently slammed with fulfilling Little Dee book #4 orders, so we’ll see if I’m able.
Thanks for the link from Roland Hansson of Golden Age!
Panel 11 is sweet!
And regarding the last panel, you’ve been talking to my kids about me and video games again, haven’t you?
(At least the computer’s easy — I just leave that on 24×7. But if the cats trip over the power cord or the lights flicker, I’m toast.)
Chris, take a look at Mi Casa Es Su Casa – fun architectural design photos (unfortunately all residential, though).
Esta, those are gorgeous, but unfortunately I can’t use them for this purpose.
It’s my fault, I did not specify in my blog that I’m seeking 3-D models. I just updated the blog to reflect that.

This is the second time I’ve seen one of those spambots that copy a previous message in order to pass the spamfilter, and then link to a site in their name. Perhaps I just caught it before it could be deleted as the spam that it is?
Interesting. I thought Bruce made a mistake or was being silly. Spambot makes more sense.
Thanks for linking me back 🙂
For great free 3D stuff, you should check out http://www.renderosity.com
They have links to other sites. There’s a lot of .obj models on the web but it’s hard to search for that, so Renderosity is a good jumping off spot. They have a list of free objects in various formats as well.
I use a program called Poser to do some 3D art; Renderosity covers that and a lot more.

Thanks, John! I’ve just signed up and will check it out. 🙂
This is so good. The characters are real to me. It is just sad that we know that Martina dies. But it fades into the background and we feel its haunting presence as we learn more and experience the adventures of the Red Dwarf crew… Sorry. Only a superficial resemblance to be sure. Everything old is new again and nothing is new under the suns. Only in how they are done. This is done well.
