Oh goodness. I hadn’t planed on this running Christmas Eve. How cheery. :-/ Sorry!
And I made the list for best new webcomics of 2014 over at io9! Yay! 🙂

Saturday I worked on scripting, and then ended the evening with going to a really fun soul show with a friend. Sunday I went to Massachusetts to briefly visit family. Will be back in time for Monday model (in costume this week!) painting.
Boy am I tired. And almost unsure what day it is.
I know I mentioned getting a car… but… perhaps I said that too prematurely.
Sigh.
If anyone knows of a reliable minivan/wagon/van within my reach, in the 1.5-3k range. One that will go cross country and then some, and that a mechanic would give the thumbs up — drop me a line. 🙂
if anyone wants to donate a vehicle (of any sort, but which is reliable as per above) to a poor-yet-adventurous cartoonist in exchange for, I don’t know, an oil painting? Now’s your chance!
Phew! I think I may have found a car! Fingers crossed it’s not a lemon!
And I am going to put this out there again. We have found a wonderful loving home for Lucy, but Babette is still needing one. She is a year-and-a-half old, we found her abandoned under a porch with crusty-shut eyes and big paws. She’s healthy now, with all her shots and spayed and everything. She is very playful, so if you ALREADY HAVE kitties who really like to play she could make a perfect companion. We have a cat, Mimi, who is terrified of playing and runs, and Babette thinks it is a fun game, and so it turned into a very unhealthy and miserable relationship and we’ve had to split our apartment in two.
My impression is that she would NOT love being a single kitty, as she is SO social and interactive. She LOVES petting, especially in the morning, although she does NOTseem to be a lap kitty. Would rather lay right next to you for hours (I work from home, and she spends most of the day laying near to me).
If you live anywhere within a few hours of Glens Falls/Albany, I’m willing to drive her. I just want her to have a happy and loving home.
Just drop me a line.
I went to the Hyde Museum here in Glens Falls, which has a small collection, but it’s truly lovely. I took reference photos of the inside of the building (which is also very lovely) and wrote down notes about the techniques I saw. Then i got a veggie burger, because — hunger.
I so want to paint. I’ll be able to get down to Saratoga (probably) next Monday night, for a model in costume (yay!), so cross your fingers.
I’ve been shopping for vehicles. I need something reliable, under 2k, and which is big enough to haul stuff (station wagon, minivan, van, etc). A camper would be sweet, but anything decent is pretty expensive. Anyhow, exhausting doing all this research. I haven’t bought a car in 15 years (and sold my last one 13 years ago), so I’m a bit out of the loop.
Don’t worry, there’s more strips. It’s not over yet (the last strip will theoretically run De 31).
I had a lovely weekend. Had some really good times talking over yummy food and root beer with a dear friend of mine. Wrote some good things, drew some good things. Even played racquetball.
I am ready to tackle the week.
Friday already? but I have so much left to do. Thank goodness for the weekend.
Went to model painting on Monday. Below is the painting plus a link to the process pics (it’s also posted on my “paintings page“). A small painting, only 8″x10”
