Ah. A nice weekend. My sweetie and I had drinks Friday night at the flat of some new friends. Saturday, went and saw the band William Hale at a dive bar in town. Puttered away at the pencils for a new painting. Fun!

03/14/14 Vagus Last Seen
I think something happened since Wednesday. Mostly just drawing and eating I think. Took a slew of reference photos trying to get something to work from on my next painting (the first one isn’t done, but it can be a couple weeks between days i can work on it in order to let it dry).

I wrote all day Monday. Totally uneventful.
03/10/14 Outside Inspection
Saturday was kinda’ lame, a day or errands. But Sunday was nice. Sunny, and my sweetie and I walked to the local art museum (free on the 2nd Sunday of the month), and then to the community theater downtown which was playing “Neverending Story” which I’ve never seen, and so seeing it on the big screen seemed like a good idea. Some coffee in the sun with bread and hummus. One of those super pleasant days.
Staurday wasn’t a total write-off though, I did do some more work this weekend on the painting of my sweetie. Personally, I LOVE in-progress pictures, and so I’m going to keep posting them for those who share the same like.
03/07/14 Lamont’s Recommendation
I went to Writer’s Group tonight. I haven’t had much to submit since I’ve been working on writing the Little Dee graphic novel. Which is going smoothly enough I suppose. A bit of a challenge.
If you haven’t read it, I got nicely listed in an article over at “io9” by the awesome Lauren Davis (mostly forSpacetrawler). A listing of completed Science Fiction projects which are good to sit down and read in one binge. Go read it!
Oh, and here’s a sketch from Tuesday’s model studio class. I was only their for about a half hour, and forgot to bring a pencil, but, that said, I kinda’ like it. 
03/05/14 Things In Common
I actually was only able to stop drawing class for about a half hour, so have not much to show for it. But I thought I’d show you an oil painting I’ve begun. Fun!
03/03/14 The Future
Had a fun weekend this weekend. Wrote a 10-minute play for the 24 play fest here in Glens Falls. And I was so evil, I gave my cast so many lines to remember in so short a time. But they did great.
02/28/14 Plain Old Frosting
A few weeks ago I pulled the package of sandwich cookies out of the cupboard, only to find that my sweetie had licked the frosting out of a several of them. I was the good boyfriend and ate the non-filled cookies, as I giggled, but it also inspired this strip.

02/26/14 Gordon Confesses
Reminds me of some of the BS I used to say to avoid accountability in office jobs. Ah, the good ol’ days.
Had a lovely birthday. Went for a long walk, looked at art books in the library, went to studio drawing, and then my sweetie and I went out to dinner. It’s a strange thing, because on your birthday it’s nice to do what you really love, but for me I do that every day all day (writing, painting, drawing), and so I kinda’ had to step sideways and not let myself do any any work (the studio drawing is more a fun thing).
Anyhow. AT studio drawing, I tried working straight on my digital palette. Not sure I love the results.
Tonight (Tuesday), I’m starting staying up until 5:00am, which is when I need to have the script done Friday-night/Saturday-morning for the “24 hour play fest.” If I don’t condition myself a few days in advance, on Friday I’ll turn into a pumpkin at midnight.

02/24/14 Day And Night
Saturday went to a really fun game night at a friend’s house where we played “Sheepshead” an American (Wisconsin actually) bastardization of Skat. In just the second hand and I (with luck) even almost had a “Grandma’s Hand.” Anyhow, fun to learn a new game, and fun to be able to hold my own (came out one nickel ahead!)
It’s my birthday Tuesday. Been trying to think of something fun to do. Art museum? Bowling? Spend the day painting? Donuts? So many choices.
Excited, this Friday/Saturday is the “24 hour play fest.” Although I’m dreading staying up all night to write — that’ll totally do me in. As I mentioned before: 10 teams of: 1 writer, 1 director, 4 actors each. All teams meets separately February 28th in the evening, the writers write all night, and the director/actors begin rehearsals at 9 in the morning, and the plays go up for one show of all of them back-to-back that following night. If you’re local, come!
