I’m sorry Cedra got sad news. I hope the Holiday had some comfort and happiness for her as well.
Happy New Year to both of you.

I just finished reading your mom’s recipe. That, along with your penuche recipe and the french onion soup recipe, are the reasons I have “Cookrookery” bookmarked. When I make it, I think I’ll try throwing in the un-drained can of diced tomatoes. That, plus the liquid from the cottage cheese, should provide enough moisture to cook the noodles without having to cook them ahead of time.

Oh! And throw in a can of chopped black olives, too.

I am sorry for Cedra’s loss and hope some of it was made up in the holiday spirit. Happy day 4 of Xmas to you all. And Happy New Year!

Losing friends and family is always hard, but it is a condition of life. Sympathies to Cedra and hope you otherwise had a Merry Christmas.

Just for future reference, if you have a pile of eggs that will go soon I would suggest either hardboiling them or pickling them.
And if you pickle them and can them you can transport them without refrigeration.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Thank you for all the entertainment.
